Netzwerk/Internet freischalten

Welcome to the Karlshof network!

To get internet access, use a network cable to connect
your device to the (left) socket in your room. If you
don’t have a cable, we can sell you one. Now wait for up
to 30 minutes. If it still doesn’t work, make sure your
network settings are set to “dynamic address (DHCP)”.

At the moment you plug in your device, it is registered.
If you replace it with a different device, it will not work
until you contact us to reset the registration. We need
the “VO-Nummer: 062-nn-nn-nn-n” that is printed on
your contract to find your connection.

We don’t offer WiFi, but you can connect a router. Don‘t
connect DSL modems, switches, hotspots or access
points and don‘t try to set up a hotspot on your laptop.
We will block your connection if your device causes
network issues (e.g., due to misconfiguration).

Internet traffic that leaves the university network is
limited to 120 GB per month. University services are
always accessible (e.g., TUCaN). Full access is restored
automatically at the beginning of every month.

Visit http://volumen.hrz.tu-darmstadt.de to see your
internet traffic statistics. You can use the HTTP proxy at
proxy.tu-darmstadt.de (port 80) to browse the rest of
the web if you have exceeded the limit.

Please keep in mind that you have always the same IP
address here and that you are responsible for your
online activities (file sharing, etc.).
